Cacao Ceremony
What is Cacao? – Cacao is a fruit grown in tropical environments. It was discovered more than 5,000 years ago in Mesoamerica, where it was treated as sacred plant medicine and consumed in ceremonies. Today cacao is grown around the world and when it is processed, it can be used to make chocolate. Cacao is responsible for the signature taste of chocolate and it is also responsible for the happy feelings that we experience when we consume chocolate. Cacao has an abundant source of magnesium, iron, potassium, fiber and antioxidants. Cacao is celebrated for it’s heart opening qualities and for the fact that it makes most of us want to show up as better people in the world. Ceremonial cacao is served as a frothy beverage.
Our Facilitator - Kim Copeland
works with cacao daily and has spent time in the community in Guatemala where this sacred plant is harvested. Cacao is deeply rooted in the Mayan tradition and Kim is a student of the Mayan Cosmovision, endeavoring to carry these wisdom teachings back to our community.
Our Cacao – The cacao that we will consume is 100% pure ceremonial grade cacao. It is ethically sourced from the Guatemalan highlands, and is part of an indigenous preservation project. This cacao is made by a family that has been working with cacao for generations; each batch is blessed with Mayan ancestral prayers. Our cacao is pure plant medicine packed with beautiful transformational energy.

It is a free-form, not structured dance space. Ecstatic Dance is an inner/outer journey, an authentic moving meditation where true Presence is experienced. It creates a direct body-mind-spirit connection, allowing our body and inner guidance to be our own teachers. It's about being fully present, transparent and real with oneself and others, discovering our own true dance, using this movement and energetic experience to release stuck patterns in our bodies, emotions and mind and being able to experience true union with the divine as One.
